In Calgary, our city parks and pathways get a lot of use throughout the summer months. Whether it’s visiting a playground with your family, or enjoying the outdoors by playing team sports, our parks can get busy. And with that busyness, sometimes a little extra attention needs to be paid to keep our parks clean.

Pasonite Eric, Pason Canada Facilities Support, does regular walks around many of Calgary’s parks and pathways with his wife, especially during the summer months.

"Unfortunately, we started to notice the litter more than the natural beauty of our parks, and this started a conversation about taking one of our walk times and collecting the litter," Eric says.

Because of Pason’s reputation of volunteering in the community, Eric decided to share his thoughts with his fellow Pasonites.

The idea grew from there, and now we call it Pristine Parks by Pason!

It’s an office initiative to encourage us to get outside and clean up parks in Calgary and surrounding areas!

A group of up to 14 Pasonites participated in scheduled clean-ups over the summer, and we were able to pick up trash at four parks, hitting each quadrant of the city! Wow! Great work, Pasonites.

“Pasonites are known for their involvement in the community, and their commitment to volunteering,” says Kristin, Pason Canada Facilities and Administration Supervisor who helped organize the clean-up events. “Those who participated in our parks clean-ups were able to get outside and socialize with fellow coworkers, while helping make our communities look better.”

Thanks to all our Pasonites who have given back by volunteering to clean up Calgary parks!
