This May, Pason was once again recognized as a member of the United Way of Calgary’s Corporate Million Dollar Roundtable (CMDR). The CMDR is an elite group of Calgary businesses who, together with their employees, retirees, and board members, have donated more than $1,000,000 to United Way since 2008.

A registered charity, the United Way is an umbrella funding organization that seeks to build a system of community supports, working toward the vision of a resilient and caring community where everyone thrives.

Pason began our relationship with the United Way in 1998, and to date we’ve raised more than $2,763,657 from special events, corporate matching, and mostly, from employee donations. We earned a place at the CMDR in 2016, the year it launched. Of the more than 800 workplaces that run United Way campaigns, only 67 have reached this level of giving.

United Way Campaign Manager Sabrina Rougeau said that year-to-year giving is crucial for funding the prevention strategies that the United Way and their partners build together in the social sector.

“Be it a call to the Distress Centre, a course at Recovery College through the Canadian Mental Health Association, or a workshop from Sagesse on domestic violence, these are all available purely because of corporations like Pason who partner with United Way, and the employees who donate to make these free services possible,” said Sabrina.

Pason’s work with the United Way and other charities is an important part of our corporate culture, and the fall campaign is coming up fast. Last year, the United Way Calgary raised $50.7 million, and we can help them top that it 2019.
