Your place of work is only as good as the people you work with. That’s what Jackie, Pason Canada Health and Safety Coordinator, says when asked what she enjoys most about working at Pason.
“Most of all, I really love the people I work with; I’ve been here so long, they feel like family,” she says.
When Jackie started with Pason 12 years ago, she was looking to work for a company that is forward-minded, and Pason fit that description. She landed a role in the accounting department, then became an Operations Assistant, which is where she handled many health and safety administrative duties.
“I then talked to the Health and Safety Manager at the time, and let Pason know that I would like to be full time in safety and he was able to create a full-time role for me,” Jackie says, adding she’s been in her role as Health and Safety Coordinator for six years.
Jackie’s responsibilities are promoting, implementing, and overseeing Pason’s Health and Safety program, which include sending out Safety Alerts, assisting the Joint Health and Safety Committee, onboarding all new field technicians, new hire orientations, Safety presentations, and Field ride-alongs.
“I’m also responsible for taking care of our field techs and any items or things they need,” she says. “Every day is different.”
Jackie adds she just helped design a grinding course for Pason’s field technicians, as well.
Outside of Pason, Jackie spends her free time at the lake with her family. They love golfing and being out on the water, and she says her husband especially enjoys her cooking.
Pason feels like family to Jackie, as well, and she loves making a positive impact through her work every day.
